ED Raids Delhi Residence of RJD MP Misa Bharti in Money Laundering Case

ED Alleges Money Laundering to Purchase Delhi Farmhouse

Lalu Prasad Yadav's Daughter Under Investigation

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at the Delhi residence of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Misa Bharti on Saturday, in connection with a money laundering case. The ED alleges that Bharti, the daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, laundered money to purchase a farmhouse in Delhi.

According to the ED, Bharti is linked to a company called Ms. Mishail Packers and Printers Private Limited, which allegedly received Rs 1 crore from a firm named Ms. Lara Projects Limited. The ED claims that the funds were used to purchase the farmhouse in the Bijwasan area of Delhi.

The BJP leader Sushil Modi has alleged that Bharti used shell companies and benami transactions to launder money for the purchase of the farmhouse. The ED has stated that it is investigating the financial transactions linked to the purchase of the property.

The raids come as part of the ED's ongoing investigation into the money laundering case related to the purchase of several properties by Bharti and her family. The agency had previously registered a case against Bharti and others under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The RJD has condemned the raids, calling them politically motivated. The party has alleged that the BJP is using central agencies to target its leaders as part of a vendetta campaign.
