Keyboardist and vocalist was a founding member of the Hamburg-based band

Sören Bodner, a founding member of the Hamburg-based band The Wighnomy Brothers, has died at the age of 51. The band announced the news on their website on 26th August 2023, and said that Bodner had died after a long illness.

Bodner was born in Hamburg in 1971, and founded The Wighnomy Brothers in 1990 with guitarist and vocalist Mathias Grosch. The band released their debut album, "In Search of the Lost Soul", in 1993, and went on to release a further six albums.

The Wighnomy Brothers were known for their eclectic sound, which drew on influences from rock, pop, jazz, and folk music. The band toured extensively throughout Europe, and also played a number of shows in the United States.

In addition to his work with The Wighnomy Brothers, Bodner also released a number of solo albums, and worked as a producer for other artists. He was also a member of the band Grobschnitt, and played on their 2007 album "The Last Tape".

Bodner's death is a great loss to the music world. He was a talented musician and songwriter, and his work with The Wighnomy Brothers will continue to be enjoyed by fans around the world.
