Gabby Logan On Her Gymnastics Roots And Career

Gabby Logan on her gymnastics roots and career

Former gymnast Gabby Logan has spoken about her gymnastics roots and her career as a sports presenter for more than two decades.

The BBC presenter, 50, told us back in 2020 why she thinks more should be done to showcase female sporting role models, and we caught up with her again to find out what she's been up to.

The Olympic and Commonwealth Games are calling on the BBC's Gabby Logan to present their sporting events.

The former international gymnast has been at the BBC for more than 20 years and has become a key figure in the presenting line-up.

Gabby began her career as a gymnast at the age of six, competing for Wales and Great Britain. She retired from gymnastics in 1995 and moved into broadcasting.

In 2000, she joined the BBC and has since presented a variety of sports programmes, including the Olympics, Wimbledon and the World Cup.

In 2020, she told us: "I think it's really important to have female sporting role models. When I was growing up, there weren't many female sports stars in the media.

"Now, there are so many more and I think that's great for young girls. They can see that it is possible to be successful in sport, even if you're a woman."

Gabby is married to former Scottish international rugby player Kenny Logan. They have three children together.
