Five Players Named to Team, Including Four Current Members and One Former Player

Norman, Okla.

University of Oklahoma softball and head coach Patty Gasso announced Wednesday the team's 2024 roster. The Sooners will welcome five new players, including four current members and one former player.

The newcomers include infielder and pitcher Jordy Bahl, outfielder Jayda Coleman, infielder Macy Donohoe, and pitcher Alexia McMillan. All four players are highly touted recruits and are expected to make an immediate impact on the Sooners' program.

In addition to the four newcomers, the Sooners also announced that former player Nicole Mendes will be returning to the team. Mendes, a pitcher, played for the Sooners from 2019-2022 and was a key member of the team's 2021 national championship team.

With the addition of these five players, the Sooners are now poised to make another run at the national championship in 2024. The Sooners are coming off a successful 2023 season in which they finished with a 56-4 record and won their third national championship in the past six years.

The Sooners will open their 2024 season on February 8th when they host the Texas State Bobcats at Marita Hynes Field.
