The New York Knicks have taken a 2-1 lead in their first-round NBA playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers, thanks to a hard-fought 108-99 victory on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks were led by Julius Randle's 24 points, while Jalen Brunson added 21 points and RJ Barrett chipped in 19. The 76ers were led by Joel Embiid's 27 points, while James Harden added 20 and Tyrese Maxey had 18.
The Knicks led by just four points at halftime, but pulled away in the third quarter. They outscored the 76ers by 12 points in the period, taking a 82-70 lead into the fourth quarter.
The 76ers made a run in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to five points with just over four minutes remaining. However, the Knicks held on for the victory, scoring the final five points of the game.
The Knicks will now head to Philadelphia for Game 4 on Thursday night. The 76ers will need to win to tie the series and send it back to New York for a Game 5.
